Parents could be in the dark about the kids.  phrase it, be  very tactful.
Maybe you could suggest a pair of dirt bikes? Sounds like they are into
speed, not horsemanship.We all have raced our horses, admit it, speed is
fun! (maybe that is why I grew up and rode the real thing?)  I caught my two
children doing something similar, but at a much younger age 7and 8.....
Nipped it in the bud then.
