[RC] Sandhills Correction - Ed

Roger made a little mistake about my placing. I rode the 2 day 30(not the
50). Sawyer and I were 11th and 6th on those days. Sawyer did do real well
both days and drank more on trail than he ever has. Interestingly, he
weighed 1025lbs before the first ride, 960lbs at the first vet check and
950lbs after finishing. He was 960lbs before day 2 and didn't go below
950lbs. We trailered 5+ hours home the afternoon of the second ride and when
I turned him loose in the pasture he went running and bucking all over the
place just being glad to be home! It was our first rides of the season and
I was pleased with his performance. Although on Friday night he woke me up
about midnight making all sorts of noise and it looked like he was getting
ready to bust out of his electric corral. I got up and lead him around for
awhile and he was still acting slightly bonkers. He was lunging around
me(and I never lunge him) trying to run off. At one point a loose horse
calmly walked up to us and then I had 2 horses to hold. Couldn't find the
loose horses home so put them both in the big pipe arena which was where the
vet check was. Woke at 0430 and went and got Sawyer out and put him back in
his corral. He is usually so benign. Don't know what got into him. Oh well.
We are getting ready for Million Pines 50 also.

REAL endurance is sleeping in the tack compartment of your trailer w/the
door open, and your horse snorts/snots on your forehead every 30 min!
