at this ER the night before the ride, someone cut a couple of tents with a 
knife, and another one was set on fire! I am hoping that this  is just an 
isolated incident and that ER people are not REALLY like this?? Any 
comments??

Just TWO tents slashed? And only *one* fire? Heck, hardly worth mentioning. 
Should have been at our local CT! Knife fights, shootings, people throwing acid 
on each other...wires stretched across the trail to knock the competition 
off... all the norm! >eg<

Honestly, I haven't been to any Florida rides but if that's actually happening 
down there they're keeping the secret pretty well. No fires up here. No 
knifings. An occasional trampling by loose horses is about the only excitment 
you can drum up. Everybody seems to go to bed at 9 and most arguments between 
competitors seem to involve, "No, you should cross the finish first...no *you 
should!".
