There were really nice volunteers there who were physically helping some of
my friends who were getting too hot and taking leave of their senses. Later
on trail, they talked about appreciating that. I say thank you on their be!
half. "Snaps" to the Norco posse guys who stopped tr affic for us. Awesome
dudes on their day off, looking sharp in uniforms.

I was one of those riders. Since the forecast called for 72, I hadn't quite
planned on 90+. Boy it was hot! Thankfully there was fresh fruit at the
checks, and volunteers Carol and Tom, who were with Terry Wooley. They were
my angels of the day and I would not have completed without them. My mare
would have breezed through, but I would have baked in the sun at the lunch
check. They absolutely did everything for me, including fed, me, watered me,
my horse and vetted her through. I was so thankful to them, I almost cried.
All the volunteers and ride management were amazing as usual, and even
though this is a tough ride, it is also beautiful and when you are done, you
feel like you really did a a tough 50 miles. That last house leading into
the hills of significance was great. Watered us both and squirted us off. I
ran all the way down into the canyon on foot and that coupled with the
excellent care we got and taking extra time in the checks to tank my mare up
with extra food and water paid off-we finished 10 times fresher than we were
at lunch.
I wish I could have stayed to do Sunday, but I wasn't complaining laying in
the AC and taking a nap:) I had a great time and would encourage people to
try this ride. Like Hog Wild, it is tough but rewarding!
Tiffany-who even got to ride with Beth-what a nice surprise!

Arabians were bred for years primarily as a war horse and those
requirements are similar to what we do today with endurance riding.
