Re: [RC] Endurance horse buyer scam (long) - Amber Roberts

Why give the buyer such a bargain?
1. Since this transaction will take some time, he should pay board say $500.00 per month or fraction, 3 months payable in advance.
2. What about brand inspection? State fees, and your time.
3. Proof of mortality insurance, to start with the holding period.

This is a great way to handle a scamer if you have the time.

I received a similar email when I had a horse for sale, too, but I just hit the Delete key. Saved a lot of time. Her response was funny, however.

I don't think you have to join a gym or buy frilly outfits to get some
fitness. A decent set of shoes and a 15 minute dismount here and there
will help. ~ Jon K. Linderman, Ph.D., FACSM, Assistant Professor of Health and Sport Science, University of Dayton
