[RC] OT - 'ebay' email con - Teresa Van Hove

Way off topic - but many of us have bought or sold
something on Ebay - so dont fall for this one while
fighting flu or something where you're not thinking
clearly.

Ed's post reminded me. I got about 3 emails this week claiming
to be from EBAY saying they had been unable to process my cc on
file for a recent attempted transaction. (I've never given
ebay any cc info). Dont even know if they have a service
like that. but the email wanted me to "resubmit" my cc
info at an http(s?) url. Course I didn't submit anything,
but they had copied Ebay logos into the email and the web
site the email link took me to was not obviously wrong
to be EBAY, cuz I did follow it just to see what it looked like.

Teresa
