Re: [RC] Michigan weather - Jaime Reid

LOL, spent 2 winters in MICHIGAN. WONT do it again. Born and raised in
Alabama. WOW burrrr COLD, MI that is.. Dont get me wrong I love it there.
Ya'll have way more things to do with horses than in the south. I mean every
time mom and I turned around, there was another endurance ride, horse show,
auction, club meetings and BBQ's SOMETHING with horses, all the time.. NOT
down here, kinda crappy if you ask me. ( down here that is) I think we have
maybe 2 rides( endurance) a yr here in AL. Other wise we have to travel out
of the state, to get to most of the rest. Kinda thinking of moving to KY.
The have lots of horsey things and sports to do, lots of barns, great trails
and just a BUNCH more than here, and not as cold as yall though. Our rails
to trails down here isnt anything like MI, MI's is so much better. Ya'll
have AWESOME horse campgrounds. NOT here, we are lucky if we have an area to
check or sign in and leave money in a box for our site camping. Most the
state parks here have just trails NOTHING else. Just PLAN ole parking areas,
and trails. YA! we can ride yr round, if you dont mind riding in a little
bit of drizzle, fog, rain and MUD. So before yall say yal are tired of
cleaning up froxen turds and hay filled frozen bathtubs out by the fence.
Remember whos got it better, YA'LL DO by a long shot. and this is coming
from a southern.

Well knowing that that I am probably on the edge here. But also know
that the long arm is a long way off, it was 75 degrees here today :-).

Sorry folks...........you can laugh at us when it is 100 degrees and
100% humidity.

I have ridden once this winter. Now the snow which is over a foot deep,
is
so hard that I can walk on the top with an occasional fall thru. Sure am
not taking the horse out in this! But I love cleaning frozen turds!
They
are lighter than the regular and the stalls are much easier to clean.
Although I can't ride, I can still ski and take the dogs for walks. Am I
ready for a break and a warm up? Nahhhhhh, not me. Liar, liar pants on
fire!! LOL Jeanie
