Re: [RC] CRI history - Dyane Smith

Do either of you know the details?  It seems like this might be something
that people could do for their own horses?  Especially for newly competing
horses tobe sure you aren't missing anything in the excitement.

IIRC, Dr. Steele  came up with the idea of taking serial heart rates
(Something like arrival at the hold, 5 minutes, 10 minutes), and using
percentage  recovery as an indicator of fitness.
Dr. Ridgway refined it into the current CRI , which made it a bit more
practical for ride use.

FWIW, that's my recollection as well, Charlotte.  I remember having Jim
Steere come speak at PNER many years ago, and having him talk about serial
recovery.
