i recently was looking into ways that, when it becomes necessary, i could 
dispose of my 15 year old ewe (that's a sheep for you that don't 
know).  one of the things i learned in talking about this with receptionist 
for my large animal vet is that around here the cost for a backhoe to dig a 
hole to bury a horse (county says 10 feet deep) is $500.  pause for 
thought, hummmmm.
