AERC protest was filed a while back over "trace" amounts of bute. The
State reports all positives to the AERC and it is up to them what to do with
them. The State itself does not prosecute. mb
One of the presentations done
at AERC to the vets in attendance likewise stated that while some of the CA
officials think we are nuts to want to know about trace amounts, they still duly
report them to us. The bute allowance in CA is most likely for flat
racing. They don't mess with our rules in the least.
