RE: [RC] Paris, meeting of International Endurance community - Bob Morris

Interesting. Who represented the USA and what did they
present? Also, did they represent the USA-E, the USET, the
AERC or the AERC International?

Subject: [RC] Paris, meeting of International Endurance
community

Paris, February 7
Endurance Conference

Animated but constructive debates in Paris received on 7
February, 2003:

With the Palate of the Congresses, the principal actors of
the equestrian
Endurance on a world level, at the time of an international
Forum organized
by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and the
French Federation
of Horsemanship (FFE).

This meeting at the top, chaired by Freddy SERPIERI, 1st
Vice President of
the FEI, gathered 115 participants representing 29
Fédérations come from the
5 continents. It allowed in the morning delegated of 8
nations (Australia,
France, Switzerland, Germany, the USA, Brasil, New Zealand
and Union of the
Arab Emirates) to present the evolution of the discipline in
their
respective countries and to express their points of view on
the improvements
to be brought to the current time. The forum of discussions,
often animated,
allowed each one the opportunity to make its voice heard.

A motion in 7 points, prepared the day before by an
intercontinental ' think
tank ' was submitted to the technical Commission of the FEI,
in particular
relating to the format of the race and the qualifications in
the World
Championships as well as the creation of under independent
veterinary
committee. These proposals, examined in detail by the
technical Commission
which met in Paris shortly after the Forum, would, after
validation, be
presented to the Office of the FEI, and then voted during
the General
meeting in April 2003.

Freddy SERPIERI insisted much during these debates, on a
common will to
positively evolve this equestrian discipline in full rise.
A position
completely supported by Jacqueline Reverdy, President of the
FFE, which was
present throughout this Forum.
