Re: [RC] Response to Ms Fager - Maureen A. Fager

One of the treatment vets verbally reprimanded the rider when she began treatment. I do not have a transcript of what was said, but this I do know, the riders parents (the rider was 18 or 19 at the time of this incident I believe)were so insulted by this (that someone would reprimand their precious daughter!) that they used this reprimand as an excuse not to pay the vet for her services and even made verbal threats towards a lawsuit. (the lawsuit threat was never taken seriously) The vet treated this horse for many hours.

The property owners allowed the horse to be treated on their property. This was private property don't forget, the owners could have asked the horse owners to take the horse elsewhere for treatment, they did not. They were allowed use of the grounds, shade and water.

Ride management acted as a liaison between the horse owner and the vets as tempers ran high. Also, ride management took a collection up from the other riders ect., still present so that the treatment vet would have at least some recompense for her services.

Communication is fine, acusations without facts, and hyperbole and fingerpointing all cause polarization, defensiveness and a loss of communication. Statements were made at the start of this thread about how rides in Nevada and No. Cal were run, I asked for either the facts to that assertion, or for the poster to state that that this was in fact her opinion.

Her turning the conversation to another incident, has still not given us the "facts" of the orginal posters assertion.

Best,

Great! Please document via a post to Ridecamp who, what was
said, what was done, etc. Lack of communication is why this
whole discussion got started.
