It depends on a lot of things. How complementary is their conformation? How much a tendency does the Arab have to throw his gait. Back when the gaited breeds were being developed, he may have been a candidate to breed to the current gaited stock to see if the off spring did have a strong gait. If they did would be a good candidate for breeding to gaited horses. This is how the walking horse and five gaited horse came about.


There are too many variables, however, to tell. In general when you cross an Arab with a walking horse you don't get the gait. If the Arab is gaited and will gait free in the pasture, maybe yes.
