[RC] "Gassy" horses - Cowgirgoof

Does anyone have experience with horses that produce excessive gas during long
training rides or at real rides? If so, does it bother them? If any vets are
lurking out there, I'd love to hear your input. Susan G.?
My horse doesn't seem to do it on shorter rides,(an hour or less), only once he
really gets warmed up and working. He does not have a history of colic, but the
gas can seem to make him uncomfortable going down the trail.
Any input? He's now on a diet of oats, Accel Lifetime supplement, and T&A and
Orchard grass/alfalfa mix. I give him approximately 2 lbs of saoked beet pulp
daily. Coastal hay seemed to make him worse, so I've taken him off that
totally. I do not as of yet have him on a probiotic, but have ordered Pro-Bi
from ABC.
thanks,
Becky
