[RC] GOVERNMENT HORSE ID- no, it isn't PETA, guys - Jonni Jewell

Posted: >>>Not saying this approach is right or wrong, but for goodness
sakes at least find out what it is before jumping to
conclusions!<<<<

I tried to mention that in the beginning of this thread, but I think a lot
of folks like to just read the original e-mails that are sent out on these
types of things, (which of course are worded to get you all fired up) and
NOT go on line, and READ the proposal. (Oh my goodness, you mean I have to
READ all 74 pages to understand it?????) Why is it so many think that these
things must be a conspiracy or some sort, or the government in its own self,
trying to peek in your windows a little more. The proposal said nothing of
dogs and cats.....and is not trying to take away any ones "rights" as far as
I see..... Don't think they really care what you do with your horses, or how
many you have etc. This is an agricultural based proposal as some have
mentioned. They want to track the spread of disease etc. I think that it has
some merit, and they are seeking comments from ALL the groups. Horses sit
that line between companion animal, and agriculture. BUT, they can spread
some disease I am sure, that could effect the agricultural business. And
just where in the heck did the whole PETA thing come from <sigh>..........
