[RC] [Guest] New and Better GPS - Ridecamp Moderator

Bruce Weary bweary@xxxxxxxxxxxx
Attention all ride campers: My wife, Dayna, recently purchased for me a new GPS. Unlike the Ironman, this GPS does not carry the transmitter on an arm band, it is solely a wrist version and has a rechargeable battery with approx 14 hours of use per charge. It was only recently released for purchase in early November. It is the Garmin Forerunner 201. Priced at $150, it is a very compact one-piece wrist unit about 1 1/2 by 3 inches. It was advertised for competitive swimmers, therefore it is waterproof and works extremely well. It tracks present speed, average speed, distance traveled, elevation, time elapsed and of course the time of day as well as many other functions. It may be the best option for endurance riders available. Really worth checking out. Bruce
