Catfish, those are some pretty big discrepancies. You don't say where you 
are riding but if it's under lots of trees or in/out of mountains/valleys 
I'd be inclined to think, based on personal experience, that some (maybe 
all?) of that difference is from the GPS losing satellites and not 
capturing all the distance travelled.
