RE: [RC] Mens Breeches - Vicki Austin

Hi Maggie and Linda, I make breeches / tights and
zippers, belt loops , and waist bands are easily
added. I make both winter and summer tights.
Spandura, Nylon/ lycra, cotton/lycra, micro fleece/
polarfleece. I even make those tan ribbed ones that
some people like, however I find them irritating to
ride a long time in. I like my nylon / lycra best
for comfort and can add crotch pads or knee pads or
both. I personally do not like any padding as it
feels like a diaper (feel the same way with those
sheepskin saddle pads) I also do not care for any
patches as I like to be able to move around in the
saddle. I don't wear chaps either as those stick and
iritate as well. I will not be able to make
anything before xmas as I am swampped with orders
already but.............if I can help after the
holidays just let me know. I ship everywhere.
Email me privately for orders.

Hope this helps. Vicki

Believe it or not, most womens tights also fit men
because they're so darn
stretchy. However, the different brands and models
all fit VERY
differently, so some experimentation will be
required. A great way to
shorten that cycle is to attend the convention,
where he'll be able to try
on a number of different brands.

My personal favorite for riding temps above 55
degrees is the Saddle Bums
Racing Tight and they fit well. I like a slick seat
so that I can move/post
easily and their fabric is quite slick. It can come
with both a crotch
liner and a seat cushion but the latter did not work
for me at all - it
bunched up badly so I cut it out.

Other favorites are Kerrits and Carousel, and they
are both warmer than the
Saddle Bums. I wore them when I lived in Washington
and they were excellent
except on the very cold/wet days (when nothing was
warm).

Since I wear half chaps, they last nearly forever.

As long as we are on the subject, where can I get
men's tights for my man?
He's finally said he'd wear them if I buy them, but
everywhere I've found
only carries women's tights.

I'm finishing up my Christmas shopping and need
some recommendations on
men's breeches from some of you guys. He won't
wear tights yet, so
breeches are what we need. I'm looking for a brand
that wears well, is
washable, has a lot of stretch and comes in black.
But it MUST have the
belt loops, zipper and waistband! LOL. Any
recommendations???

    Thanks
    Linda
