[RC] LATimes.com: Endurance article is out - Roberta Jo Lieberman

Okay, here it is. Lead story in today's (12/9/03) Outdoor section.....

"100-mile hearts: Long trail, little glory

"Endurance horses are ridden hard but never put up wet. The bond between

riders and their mounts is usually too strong. Still, sometimes
competitive fury proves fatal......."

Plus a sidebar: "Conflict: They never say die. Driven by instinct,
horses will sometimes trot till they drop."

Go to latimes.com/outdoors to see an interactive slide show on distance
riding narrated by Los Angeles Times staff writer Janet Wilson

Despite the sensationalist heads, upon first reading it looks to be an
excellent piece of reporting.
