[RC] Sport Saddles - Jena Williams

I ride in a basic trail model (or maybe Barrel, can't tell) sport saddle. But I consider the jury "still out" on whether this is the saddle for my horse and I. Every saddle I have put on him makes him sore. Passier, Stonewall, Mackinder, 3 western, etc. The Sport Saddle seems to be the least of the evils, but he gets sore in the loins. As he keeps getting wider I hesitate to invest in another saddle yet. (the SS pommel is too narrow, but does not put pressure becuase of treeless design) That and the SS has really saved my butt (literally). He is green and when he spooks it is either a 180+bolt, or a 4 foot sideways jump.

I am open to suggestions as to why this may be making him sore in the loins. I really stay off his back and in a 2 point or half seat alot. Our rides range from 2-10 miles.
