[RC] ground control shoes - Laura Hayes

In answer to Amy's questions re GC shoes. You can find the website by
searching "Ground Control Horseshoes" on Google. I used them at Fort Valley
and rode the 2d 100. They then stayed on my horse another 7 weeks and were
still tight. I could reset that pair if I wanted to - even after 100 miles
of rocks and gravel road. They stay on exceptionally well. I put them on
three of my client's distance horses all season, and never lost a shoe.
Interestingly enough, John Crandell looked at them at Fort Valley after the
first day and commented on how well thay looked, but that I had better
tighten my clinches. I did not do that, in fact, never did, and the shoes
went 50 more race miles and 6 more weeks. They did not come off easily,
either.

They cost about $20 a pair.
