[RC] weak pastern/dropped fetlocks/lax suspensories - A. Perez

The 18 month old filly I just aquired has weak rear pasterns.
The angle is not horizontal, but it is much flatter than the
angle of the front of the hoof. All my web searches yeild
either generic conformation info ('the angle of the pastern
should be...') or scary stuff about DSLD (Degenerative
Suspensory Ligament Desmitis). If she does not have DSLD, and
it is a simple case of poor conformation, how best can I keep
her sound, and what potential would she have as a saddle horse?
I'd really like to hear from vets and any of you whp have
experience with a horse with lax suspenspries.
