I've been reading all the messages regarding the dilemma of horses in trouble at rides. My vet has been involved in distance riding since he was a kid. He has vetted a few endurance rides and vetted NATRC rides. He thinks that the pulse criteria needs to be lowered at the vet checks. Horses are leaving checks with pulses that would require a hold in a CTR ride (and you don't hear about CTR horses dying). I know it is heretical to mention CTR on the endurance list, haha, but maybe they have something there.
