[RC] Beeding/slaughter - CMNewell

I have always wondered why can't we regulate backyard/irresponsible breeding? Why can't we require a license to breed and a severe fine for keeping uncastrated male animals (horses, dogs and cats)?

Oh, please. Just what I need--the gummint sticking its nose in my breeding decisions. Let's create another giant inefficient bureaucracy to eat up money and push private agendas on the unwilling.

Just who is going to be the expert in charge of what constitutes a valid breeding program? Someone breeding endurance horses or someone breeding halter horses or someone breeding show horses?

Don't even think of going there.

Concentrate on enforcing *existing* laws regulating humane treatment, transport, and slaughter. Enacting yet another law is not the way to go.
