[RC] RPs and saddle pads - Lysane CreeHi, I currently use an Aussie Enduro saddle pad under my current Wintec Endurance - its real fleece and quite thick...but how thick is too thick??? I would say its around 2" because its fluffy. With the RP it seems most people use barely any pad or a very thin pad. If I were to get an RP would I have to consider a wider model because I have a thick pad? Just asking because I really love these Aussie enduro pads - some people have said it might hold heat in because its large, but I don't find that. It soaks up sweat but still stays fairly dry itself and it leaves my horses back nice and dry and sweat usually runs down the flanks. Once I place the saddle on the horse's back, I always lift the front of the pad and make sure it is well off the withers and up in that space (gullet?) so its not pressing on the withers. I have never experienced back problems with it. But I would want the RP to fit properly as it should....
