[RC] Wintecs and heat build-up? - spiritwood@xxxxxxxxx

Hi,
Rode this past weekend with my daughter in cool weather(30's degrees). We
both use Wintecs, one all purpose 500, and one endurance saddle. Both
saddles wer purchased new and both have the changeable gullets and the
Cair systems. At the end of the ride, my daughter commented that her
saddle pad was pretty wet but the horse had barely a damp spot anywhere
even under the tack. I untacked my horse and he also was almost completly
dry under the saddle but I noticed that the saddle had a lot of moisture on
the bottom of it and my pad also was pretty damp(on the saddle side). Is
it possible that this is due to heat from the horse that is trapped under
the saddle and the moisture condenses on the bottom of the saddle? Is this
something to worry about? My younger horse(5) has also developed a white
spot on the left side up by the withers, directly under the top of the
stirrup bars. Any ideas? He has been re-measured and is using the correct
size of gullet for his build. Help!
Becky
