RE: [RC] Wintec white spots - eznet

The supracor pad is an ideal mate to the wintec saddles. The supracor
honeycomb acts as an air pump as the horse moves. We have used this
combination for thousands of miles ourselves, endurance, training and
foxhunting. I never saddle up without a supracor and I have sold many wintec
saddles with supracor pads. We carefully fit the saddle to the horse ( you
can stuff cair saddles) and my customers have not had the problems recently
mentioned. Libby Llop Wintec dealer and fitter in WNY.
P.S. The wintec stirrup bars are on top of the tree and a more likely
explanation for white spots is gullet plates that are too narrow.

I've also noticed a slight bridging on my new Wintec Pro dressage with Cair
panels. I like the saddle but am exploring ways to shim that section that
doesn't make solid contact. I haven't been able to elicit any back pain
with firm palpation but I know it isn't a perfect fit.

Another negative with the Wintec is the heat build up as someone else
mentioned. I use a Toklait Woolback which works better than a synthetic
fleece but still need more help in cooling the back. Has anyone found
anything cooler than the Dixie Midnight No Sweat Vent pad? Unfortunately
the horse I'm using the Wintec on doesn't seem to like the DM pad. That's
surprising since I've successfully used that pad on other horses, one in
particular who has very thin sensitive skin and he was happy in it doing 50s
and 75s. Has anyone tried combining the Supracor with Wintecs?

I noticed that the section where the front and back Cair
panels join, it appears that the saddle bridges. That leaves more pressure
in the stirrup hanger area. I am working on filling in that small open area
to see if that will distribute pressure better. Wonder if others are seeing
a nonweight baring area in the same section?
