I thought the horse was going to die right in front of me. His eyes were rolling in the back of his head, and he was just about falling down. He was having a hard time standing, and i was certain he was going down. He got better when I held his head and stroked his ears, and eventually the ace kicked in and he settled down

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE HORSE WAS HAVING A SEIZURE.
Evincing symptoms of cardio-myopathy with related pulmonary edema....at some point, this condition will present just like this.  The next thing will be heart attack.
    ANY more work without checking the heart could result in tragic consequences.
