[RC] Wintec white spot - Linda Cowles

Hi Folks,

I've gotten a bunch of email from Wintec owners all talking about the "white wither spot" problem. If any of you get a chance, can you try the following test to isolate the pressure point source and describe it to me? I suspect it's still the stirrup hangers.

The Test:  Saddle the horse up *without* a pad and mount up.  Slide your hand between the horse and the white spot area... you may need to unweight the stirrups to do this. With your fingers at that spot,  isolate what it is inside the saddle that's causing the pressure... what does it feel like?

I'm considering getting a dealership; these saddles are a good deal for junior riders and are better for horses than the dozens of stiff old Argentinean saddles that end up in my shop.  I don't want to open a can of worms! I'm close minded when it comes to selling saddles that do horses more harm than good.

I have a client bringing a newer Wintec Pro dressage saddle to me this month... I'll put it on Gabby and see what he has to say about it... my boy communicates all too clearly.  A friend says he was raised by Irish nuns - he "enunciates clearly" - with pinned ears if I don't listen. ;^s
