[RC] [Guest] Fused hocks - Ridecamp Moderator

Skyla gulpyfish@xxxxxxx
I am posting this for a friend without a computer. She has over 5000 miles on her so isn't "new". She just purchased a very nice 8 year old Arab gelding that has it's hocks fused. They suspect it was OCD as a colt. She would like to get some input from people with experience with fused hocks and endurance horses. This horse's future is for endurance at a moderate to easy pace with a featherweight rider. She would like to get feedback on what type of terrain and riding is harder for this problem and what, if any, would help strengthen that area. We have almost every type of terrain available for conditioning, and want to use what is best. This is ONLY a conditioning and what's the best terrain question. All other areas she is up on. Those of you who have had favorable results with fused hocks, please let us know what you found best for conditioning/riding.
Thank you.
