[RC] Tootsies anniversary - Lynn Turck

We are coming up to the 1yr mark that Tootsie, my grandson Dustin's most beloved horse, was kicked and had to be put down at River Run ride last year.  I wrote to ridecamp [all in caps as I didn't know that was shouting]  on Nov 19, 2002 to tell the story.  With all of the discussion recently about horse deaths at rides, I would like some input as to why Megan Davis, whose horse Sanyati kicked and shattered Tootsies leg, will not put a red ribbon in his tail.  I know she has denied that Sanyati kicked, but then why did she get off him and beat him ?  Not to go through the whole story again, my question is there any reason why anyone would not mark their horse as a kicker, is there some stigma that I don't know about.  Even if I didn't believe my horse kicked, if there was a question, a slight potential that he might kick, I would certainly red ribbon him.  So why won't she?  I am truly puzzled and I hope someone can enlighten me.  Thank you,   Lynn Turck  M21675
