There is so much variation in trail diffulty and weather conditions
that not all 50-mile one-day rides are what I regard as a real test,
on an easy trail it takes 70 - 80 miles for that IMO. However, there
are many 50-mile trails that are genuinely tough, and a real
challenge. The AERC has to have an objective definition, and 50 miles
in one day has stood the test of time.

Most of the rides I have done in the PS have been tough rides. The Hog Wild
50 in particular was a tough ride. It was a great test and I loved it. We
have many hills and hot temps, so I would say those 50's were well earned
endurance rides.
Hopefully this coming year I can do both days and REALLY get tested! BTW, is
BarH boogie being held this year???
