Dear Truman:  Please check the ride times for the rides which are the time
honored foundations of this sport...Tevis, Big Horn, ROC, Virginia
City(many others, too)...you will not see any 9 hour completions in 34 to
50 years of records.  The sport was not originally designed to be a flat
track race course.  Speed kills, not tough terrain.   We all have local
rides with flat, fast terrain, but would never consider them to be world
class courses.  They are just preparation for the big rides, like BH and
Tevis.  Cindy
