RE: [RC] Ruffled Feathers---Good Responses - Rae Callaway

Well, I've been riding in this sport since 1999 and with the exception of the few times I've top tenned, my horse has never had a full check at the end of the ride - just a trot out.

Please be aware of the following AERC Rule:

2.1.4 Each equine will receive a substantive physical examination of metabolic and mechanical parameters before the ride, at control points within the ride and after the ride.

There is no excuse for the lack of a post ride examination and the exclusion of such is in contravention of the Rules and Regulations

Ok, then it's just not having a final vet exam that I don't like.  I think if you're going to do a full vet check at the beginning and at the holds, then there needs to be one at the end as well.

The LD riders certainly don't get a full vet exam at the end of a ride - just a trot out for completion.

It's the same for 50s...and I've done both LD and 50s.
