As a newbie, I'd just like to add that I think a minimum ride time is a good idea. If I'm faced with a minimum time that my ride is allowed to be completed in, it will help me learn to pace my horse and even though my first rides I'm going to do for the learning experience, it will just enforce the idea that it is *not* a race. I'd hate to accidentally push my horse over her level just because I'm not experienced enough to be able to pace her properly.

I look forward to learning even more from you all than I already have :)
