[RC] [Guest] GastroGuard and Neighlox - Ridecamp Moderator

Karen Gray graywk@xxxxxxxxxxx
We have a mare at our barn that has been diagnosed with ulcers and our vet is prescribing GastroGuard for 4wks followed by daily treatment with Neighlox. I was just wondering if there are any less expensive alternatives to treating the ulcers. The mare shows most of the classic signs of ulcers, teeth grinding, sour attitude, poor condition. I know the active ingredient in GastroGuard is omeprozale. Would it be possible to use the human form of Prilosec? Have not started on treatmenat yet, but will do so within 24hrs. Thank you for any and all comments.
