[RC] Ft. Worth Skyline - Darolyn Butler-Dial

Oh my Gosh... What a great ride this Fort Worth Fandango was. For years
I have wondered why someone didn't take advantage of the incredible
bayou/Trinity River system that flows through Ft. Worth. But then to
couple it with a camp site at the historic (but revitalized) Ft. Worth
Stock grounds was absolutely brilliant; Right down to having Willie
playing at Billie Bob's on Saturday nite. For you outta starters,
Billie Bob's is the World's largest honky tonk. Everything from a live
bull bucking arena, to souvenir & clothing shops deluxe.

The day was made of diamonds, the weather clear, but still enough
humidity to make it challenging. The few trail "hiccups" there were
will be worked out in coming years I'm sure. The City of Ft. Worth
asked for some changes at the last minute.... Sounds familiar to every
ride manager I'll bet. If its not an area getting logged at the last
minute, its some owner building a new fence.

Never-the-less, our hats/helmets are off to the Manson's who worked so
very hard to put on a quality ride and did so. We're grateful for their
effort and the numbers (over 100) of riders did show there support.
TERA and TADRA just need to get a few more of our volunteers up there
next year. Now for that 100 miler with the city glow to light our way.
How about it Mat & Barbara.

What a perfect "barefoot" ride too. Horses placing 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9,
10, 11 all ran shoeless... Yes lots of grass... A few rocky areas, but
fairly easy to avoid, and the concrete is certainly easier to tackle
with bare feet in any case as there was a bit as you crossed roads and
jogging paths occasionally. Wow!!! What a cool ride!
