Re: [RC] 100 Milers - Barbara McCrary

Years ago, California rider Diane Marquard would ride Tevis, clothed from
top to toe in WHITE.  She would finish the ride looking just as smart as she
started.  How she did it is anyone's guess.

What *I* can't figure out is how she doesn't get dirty.  She rides 100

miles and looks like she just stepped out of her trailer.  I do ONE LOOP and
look like I was dragged behind my horse at the end of a rope the whole way!
There are some other people who can do a 100 or a 50 and still look spiffy
at the end, too.  Me, after an LD I look like something the dog dragged in,
and after a 50...geez...I look more like something the dog buried a week ago
and someone else's dog dug back up!  LOL  Even my darling husband has
sweetly mentioned how some other riders look so nice and fresh after a 50.
(My response was, "And your point is...?")  <G>  C'mon, folks, how do you do
it???
