[RC] Cracked OAATS Crunch ride results - Deanna German

I forgot to bring something to write this down at the awards meeting, so
here's what I remember:

There was somewhere around 19 starting and 17 finishing. Don't quote me on
10th -- Leah Palestrant (yay! first year endurance rider!)
8th and 9th -- Amy Whelan and a 9YO little girl named Josey.
7th -- Jon Linderman (yay! another first year endurance rider!)
5th and 6th -- can't remember specifically, but Mary Coleman on her Morgan
was one of these. (That Morgan is a nice horse!)
3rd and 4th -- Steve Stover and Melissa Wagonner
2nd -- Becky McCarty
1st -- Amy Yatsko

Best Condition... (drum roll)

Jon Linderman on Spiffy!!

Maybe part Saddlebreds aren't so hard to put up with afterall. >ggg< Spiff
looked great at the finish, pulsed down easily, was well-hydrated and had
plenty of gas left in the tank. Jon? Welllll.... (just joking, Jon!)

Frankly, all the horses that finished looked great. I've seen horses run on
far less demanding trail look wrung out at the end, so it was nice to see
this group of horses looking good.

It was a challenging (but very do-able), well-marked trail, and a fantastic
day for a ride. Couldn't ask for better weather. The trails were great and
the views from the ridge tops were gorgeous.

Mark your calendars for next year for this terrific ride held in south
central Ohio. Plenty of hills, plenty of natural water and a few rocks.
Places to move out and places where the horse and rider need to be smart.

Deanna (Ohio)
(You won't see my name in EN for this one -- my mare needs a chiropractic
adjustment, so I opted for the two-day 50 CTR which was a good thing. We
completed and placed, but I would have felt bad about entering the endurance
ride which we weren't prepared for.)
