Re: [RC] Motorhome/Horsetrailer Possible? - Susan Garlinghouse, DVM

My very most favorite graduation gift this past spring was a 35' Bounder
diesel pusher MH. :-))) Around 18,000 lb more or less. I've pulled it a few
times pulling a flatbed trailer and a Subaru (about 4500 lbs), never knew it
was back there. Yesterday we pulled our three horse BP slant loaded with
tons of hay, Stuff and two horses, getting ready for a riding trip out
tomorrow. It pulled great, steady as a rock. We don't have any special
equipment on there, other than a class 4 hitch, a good brake controller.
I'd guess the load back there is probably close to 7000 lbs. The best
"safety equipment" on the whole rig is a 6-speed Allison transmission, so I
can downshift going downhills instead of using brakes. Plus, the frame is
Oshkosh truck chassis, so heavy-duty enough for good stability and handling
the load.
