Re: [RC] men in tights - calendar - Jon . Linderman

The National Show Horse Registry, my horse's breed, put out a mens calendar
last year with trainers and riders. Not sure how it went over, but they
have it on their web site for sale. Personally I would rather see photos
of my wife on my horse. Both look gorgeous and move wonderfully. I always
tell her that I wish she rode him and not me, but then she just gets to
bored after an LD to take him on 50's. I often think at some of the all
breed shows my daughter competes in that shes unfairly marked down for
riding an arab & the thing I like about our sport is whether you look good
or not, whether your horse has a gorgeous head or looks like a dogs back
end, whether it does silly things and shy or spook a bit, if you get there
safely w/a healthy horse and enjoyed doing it then hey who cares what you
or your horse look like. Right?!

Depends. I'll gladly have my picture taken in tights for a calendar, but
I'm not sure that I or my horse is an image Endurance wants to project or
even inflict on the world.

If the calendar is for Endurance riders, then why not.

IF the calendar is part of a larger plan to get people into endurance,
then
I suggest using women. It will have more marketing appeal. For women, it
shows strong women doing interesting things. For Men it shows women in
spandex.

PS: Why not two calendars? Beefcake and Cheesecake?
