In addition to rule 2.4.1, AND considering the welfare if the horse, there is also the practical matter of assigning the pull code. Now that there is RO, ROL & ROM the ride manager can't (well, shouldn't) just pick one at random. Without a vet exam, there really isn't much choice except DQ.


Guess we could add HD (horse disappeared) ;- }

I believe it IS a rule:

2.1.4 Each equine will receive a substantive physical examination of metabolic and mechanical parameters before the ride, at control points within the ride andafter the ride.
(direct from the AERC webpage including the typo "andafter")
"after" the ride is whenever your ride ends.
