Re: [RC] [Guest] New Rider! - John Teeter

Start by reading the newbies pages:) http://www.endurance.net/newbies/ and figuring out your training/conditioning schedule.

Find some events close to you: http://www.endurance.net/events/ (endurance or competitive trail would do:) and volunteer at a few rides to see whats what.

pick your target 25 mile event and go for it:) ask LOTS of questions too.

I am new to the world of endurance riding. I would like to eventually ride a 25 mi. ride, and move on from there, but I dont know where to even start. Are there any mentors out there who could help me out. I have ridden hunter/jumper for 11 years now with my thoroughbred gelding, I'm looking for a change of pace. If anyone has any kind of info. it would be appreciated. Thank you.
