RE: [RC] endurance trucks - Don and Pam Bowen

Yikes! After reading some of the other posts I think I'll keep my ugly,
not-so-fashionable truck!

'93 Dodge Ram 2500, Cummins diesel, 5-speed manual tranny, 2-WD, extended
cab, long bed, 150,000 miles. Truck doesn't seem to care whether empty or
carrying a full load (except it's slower w/load), we have a 4-horse
stock/combo, 4k empty. Average is 18-20 mpg, it depends on the lead-foot
driving it (yes, I'm referring to hubby whose patience level won't allow him
to wait for the turbo to kick in, so it loses a couple of mpg when he
drives!). Used to average 22 mpg the first couple of years when it was new.
Trust me, it was something I monitored closely as the decision between
gas/diesel (I wanted gas, hubby wanted diesel) was near divorce stage, I
really wanted to prove him wrong, never happened!! So far, as I'm knocking
on wood, this truck has been the best, most trouble free vehicle we've ever
owned. This butt-ugly truck has just been an easy keeper and for sure, I'm
keeping it now!

Pam

Ok you background people out there, we want you in this also.
After all of the truck discussions which I have heard (which in some
ways are another of our endurance companions) I would simply like anyone
to "simply" without discourse now... post:
Their truck make, year, number of miles on it, (walk out to the garage
and look..), and their most honest guess of the # of miles per gallon
pulling their trailer....don't go into details yet about your size.
Let's make this simple.....

Steve's
Ford, 95, 205,000,13mph pulling,
Hey! Let's hear from some of you endurance trucks out there....!!

This input might inspire some sponsors in the future.....
