Now wait a minute here, Ray. Before you start grouping all of us 'clinic junkies' into one big ball of of bleeding heart, animal rights activists, I think you should maybe educate yourself about what we natural horsemanship types do. If you were to be believed, we all just let our horses get away with murder. I will have you know I have been attending clinics for a few years now...and at my very first clinic, my very first one mind, my horse cow kicked the clinician. Do you think the trainer just smiled and said thats ok...? No, he went after him. In a VERY controlled manner. He essentially made it clear that kicking, rearing, biting or in any way causing a person bodily injury was not in my horses best interest. And guess what... THERE WAS NOT A BLOODY KNOT ON THE HORSES HEAD! Thats the difference between abuse and disipline! He made it clear in a manner the horse understood. And as soon as the horse backed down, the clinician let it go.
