Re: [RC] Long Shirts in Hot Weather - Aaron Turnage

I prefer to wear a lightweight cotton long sleeve
shirt that is only about hip-length. I find that the
shorter length and leaving the shirt untucked allows
air to flow from top to bottom more freely. I don't
worry about snaps because I'm just as likely to soak
the shirt ON me as opposed to taking it off and trying
to put it back on wet (this is where scoops come in
handy!). If you don't sunburn too easy, thinner seems
to be better. I just slather myself in sunscreen and
then put the shirt on. Something we all should be
doing anyways since most clothing only offers an SPF
of 5-10. Personally I can't afford one of the ones
with SPF built in right now, but would like to get one
in the future!

Like Heidi said, check the thrift stores. Also, try
to find one withOUT a stiff collar as these can chafe
after hours on the trail.
