[RC] [Guest] How well saddles hold up to 100s (an Ansur answer) - Ridecamp Guest

patty bass

sounds llike we have been given the same answer. the panels flex enough that
the horses have burned backs. at ride time it shows up as a tender back but
a few days later the hide peels. i can lessen it by keeping a dry pad on at
each vet check but i guess i will just have to get the shorter panels.
anyone have the short panels that has also ridden with the regular panels?

My saddle is 8 years old, I have talked to orthoflex about the new panels.
About $300. I will probably do it. I will not part with it in any case.
But I think the new panels are shorter in the front, I have a short backed
horse too. A lot of us seem to have the same problem. The panels scuffs
his loin area. I dont know if this will help that problem or not.

I do know that part of his problem is me! I have been letting him travel
with his head too high, thus shortening his back muscles which has added
to
his discomfort.
