[RC] - Ed Kilpatrick

hi stephanie,  the colorado ranger bred is similar to the appaloosa, as in most have the spotted blanket over the hips.  they have evolved into more of the quarterhorse body type.  the foundation stock included an arabian and a pure barb that were gifts to general u.s. grant from the sultan of turkey.
the kentucky mountain horse, also known as the kentucky mountain gaited saddle horse, is sort of a blend between walking horses and some of the pacing type horses in that region.  i have only seen one.  it was a small bay horse and moved with a well defined pace, that is, the two right legs moved in unison, then the two left legs.  ed
