[RC] championship ride - Larry Miller

As long as the ride is doable and not so tough that only the very fit will finish there is nothing wrong with a tough ride.  It always helps if the pit crew can meet the riders.  The availability doesn't have to be alot but at least some are appreciated.  the 87 ROC was not doable, 18 out of 88 finishers, and the pit crews had few places to meet their riders.  If one is going to spend the bucks to go, at least one should have the chance to finish.  I always maintained that any 100 is a challenge, terrain and weather determine how much of a challenge.  Jeanie
