Straw is a very pale yellow. In the clinical lab, we grade the 'appearance ' of the urine( clear, cloudy, turbid, etc.) and the 'color'(colorless,straw, yellow, amber, red, etc.), plus the specific gravity. The specific gravity of water is 1.000. The s.g. of normal urine is 1.003-1.035(in humans anyway). A constant s.g. of less than 1.007 indicates a concentration problem. I bet your horses are just well-hydrated!
